Tarp Baseball Cap with Rare Patches

These Fidel Tarp Caps have been made in Brazil by friends of ours, They live in Amazonas on the edge of the rainforest and their family wear these tarp hats day in day out, they are made from recycled tarpaulins from open cargo trucks that run from Amazonas North west to the south of Brazil along thousands of miles of unmade red dust laden tracks with rain, sun & dust aging the material in a way that no factory could ever replicate. After which the material is washed and prepared ready to be made into "probably" the best original Brazilian tarp hats around.
This Fidel Cap is our take on the Dictators own, its got the distressed look from recycled Brazilian truck tarps, each one has a unique story printed in the crown of the hat giving you the run down on the Amazonas Tarp Company- make sure you get a genuine Amazonas Tarp Hat ! look for the history in the crown.
All of the Amazonas Castro caps have Solid Brass eyelets that will not rust or tarnish in the European weather along with being Re-Waterproofed so the water just beads off unlike cheaper versions you might see in the marketplace.
So all of the hats have seen more weather than most of us might see in a lifetime and do not need any looking after and are ready for their next job of keeping the elements off of you whilst looking rather cool at the same time. They are fantastic hats so grab one and Viva the revolution

I have to admit I already have the baseball cap which has been much admired. I decided to get the Castro cap as I felt that it was even more different to the run of the mill hats. Now I need a hat as I am bald so in the summer months if I am out I will wear a hat. What could be better than this unusual cap. The only problem is that people ask where I got it from - so if I am not careful these caps will be common. But I love it. I loved the baseball cap but I may actually prefer this one. Time will tell BUT in the meantime I will stand out from the crowd

I have a wide brim tarp hat in xxl and it fits perfectly. So when I wanted a tarp eco cap I ordered xxl as well. Its made just as well as the wide brim hat but it just feels big.

I already have Tarp Hat so had high expectations for the Castro Cap. I was not disappointed The sizing is perfect the same as my original Tar hat and it has been made to the very same high standard. It is exactly what I had hoped it would be. Delivery was very swift with a minimal amount of packaging - all from sustainable sources. I cannot fault the product or the company. I have 2 of these hats. 2 different styles and both have a character I dont think even if you got two if the same style you wouldnt get two the same. Would I get any more. Yes definitely. Be different and get yourself a few. I havent finished yet.

I thought I had a big head but the xxxl Castro hat was just a bit loose on my large Irish potato but no problem. I returned the big one and received a replacement asap which fitted perfectly. I think the size guide is generous as the tab at the back can be used to adjust the fit. Great hat and looks the part. Cant wait to try it out in extreme weather

Great hat. Ive owned another like it for some years and its proved a very hardy companion both at work and up on the hills. A nice and sturdy bit of kit which beats hands down some more expensive similar items Ive owned. Highly recommended.

Ive worn the wider brim tarphat all spring and summer for a couple of years now but it always had one drawback in autumn and winter a tendency to catch the wind and fly off my head. No being keen on straps or cords around the neck dangerous in my line of work as a gardener with the potential for snagging on branches etc. I realised I needed an alternative. The Castro cap has turned out to be ideal. Squarer in shape than a baseball cap so a snugger fit on my lumpy head at least and with a deep brim to keep the low autumn sun from my eyes when weeding the border

This hat is just perfect for those days when I want to keep the sun off my head and out of my eyes. Baseball caps simply dont suit me but the Castro Look is much better. I also like the fact that it is made from recycled materials. A new favourite for those sunnier days when walking the dog or away camping

Tragically I lost my first Tarphat. I am glad I bought a replacement. Excellent piece of kit rain or shine. Waterproof spares messing about with umbrellas. The website gives a sensible way of measuring your head to fit. I just hope I do not lose this hat.

This is a well made hat but the fir is a bit odd ... on me anyway. It look ok but never feels very secure - it seems a bit wide at the front.Maybe it will settle in after a while. It does its job and keeps the sun off my head.

Love the look and material used. So far keeping off the British rain. Was slightly too big despite ordering a small and my head size being in the middle of that range. Ive adjusted it by cutting and sewing at the back as I didnt think the velcro looked robust enough for the long term

After buying a wide brimmed Tarphat. I looked at the Castro for waking on the coastal paths of East Yorkshire I didnt want those high winds blowing my wide brimmer away.The adjustable rear band makes a perfect fit All in all a fantastic hat for the English weather.
